Having found ABC & BBC RSS feeds, it was more challenging to create a feed from the Powerhouse Museum site - I ended up copying and pasting the URL directily into my Blog account and hey presto - success!!!

Like the ease with which one can identify and subscribe to many sites.

The above URL is to the Royal Clipper - and was taken when I was actually on board - probably having breakfast at the time.
Wonderful cruise, wonderful ship and amazing to find a shot taken when I was onboard, blissfully unaware I would be able to access a shot of it only a few weeks later, taken by a complete stranger!! Many thanks to Graf Williams for the memory - it's looks even more amazing when you are on board!!!
Finding time to Blog in a work environment which limits any Learning 2.0 activities is challenging to say the least and doesn't help one's mindset. What should be interesting becomes a 'chore' in finding the one dedicated PC that our IT department inadvertently allows access (it's actually a Public Access PC purloined for our use!), deadlines to work on the activity, and less and less staff in the workplace - well, let's just say that none of the above makes this easy or pleasurable - which is a real pity as this is the future of my profession!!!

Just how and why are IT departments and personnel allowed to tell other professionals how they can do their jobs?? How did THAT come about - I'd like to see them tell the electrician he can't use a screwdriver in his work environment because he might abuse it!!! Talk about control and power issues!!!

Despite the above, I am enjoying expanding my working knowledge and hold out hope one day SOMEONE will see the light and allow us mere Library professionals to do our jobs with the tools technology now allows!! Afterall - we have been around for centuries and were the IT specialists of the past!!!
